The Electricity Company of Ghana has disconnected power to the Koforidua Multi-purpose Youth Resource Centre over an outstanding debt that has been accrued for some time.
According to GhOne TV news, the multi-purpose resource centre has uncured debt of GHC30,000 for some without payment.
It was revealed that a lack of effort from the authorities in charge of the resource centre to settle the debt had prompted the ECG officials to terminate power until the issue is resolved.
The Koforidua Multi-purpose Centre hosted the 67th Independence Day parade that welcomed the whole nation to the Eastern Region.
According to report, the authorities in charge of the facility are yet to responds to ECG’s action.
