Ahead of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League Season, Basake Holy Stars are still contemplating about their home venue after Club Licencing Board’s “unhealthy” reports on the fortress Crosby Awuah Memorial Park.
Crosby Awuah Memorial Park is one of the Centres which have been reportedly rejected by the Club Licencing Board.
On Monday 19 August 2024, the inspection team led by Julius Emunah inspected the centre and told Holy Stars to do some renovations to reach Club Licencing Board requirements.
However, in a private chat with Hon.Simon Ehomah, the President of the club, right after the inspection, informed West End Radio that, GNPC, the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation has approved their proposal to renovate CAM Park, but it is quite surprising he dont know the date and time they are starting the work.
” We have done our best, this facility was constructed by GNPC Foundation and I have been told they have approved the budget, but surprisingly we don’t know when they are coming, I have pushed for it severally but no breakthrough, so we are waiting for them”.
” You call the PR of the company and ask him because we don’t understand” but we are waiting patiently for it just that time is not in our side” he added.
The former Karela United’s home venue was renovated in 2020 through GNPC Foundation.
Basake Holy Stars has only 2 weeks to renovate Crosby Awuah Memorial Park before their first home match on September 13.
However, the Club has called for support from the Chiefs, Politician, Businessmen and women.
