“Technically, they did nothing on the day” Abdulai Gazale criticizes Asante Kotoko’s playing style

Basake Holy Stars head coach Abdulai Gazale has criticized the technical capabilities of Asante Kotoko following their crucial Ghana Premier League showdown on Sunday.

The home side came from behind to draw 1-1 against the Porcupine Warriors in match week eight at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park.

Speaking after the game, Gazale directed his comments at his former team, saying they did nothing on the day in terms of the technical aspect of the game.

“Kotoko is not playing any game. To me, technically, they are not playing any game.

“We knew what our team is capable of. The way we were pressing in the first half, if we had taken our chances, we would have won the game.

“Unfortunately, it happened. The Hearts of Oak game was the same. Sometimes it is just the name, but when it comes to the pitch, it is the players who determine the winner.”

The draw halted Kotoko’s pursuit of a fourth consecutive victory. The Porcupine Warriors initially took the lead in the 36th minute with a well-placed strike from Albert Amoah.

However, the home side fought back and equalized in the 81st minute through Prince Tweneboah.
