Hearts of Oak put on a tight collective display at TNA Sports Stadium to pick up three points after a goalless draw at half time.
Two second-half goals by Accra Hearts of Oak gave them a vital win over former champions Medeama SC in a Matchday 9 game of the Ghana Premier League.
The win, coincidentally, is the first for a visiting side at the TnA Sports Stadium in Tarkwa.
Goals from Asamoah Boateng and Mawuli Wayo ensured that the Phobians walked away with all the three points.
The win eases the pressure on Hearts’ coach Aboubakar Ouattara, who has led the club to only two wins so far.
The Phobians were 12th on nine points and Friday’s game was coming on the back of a 1-0 defeat to league leaders Bibiani Gold Stars.
However, the win in Tarkwa lifts Hearts of Oak to seventh on nine points.
Their next encounter will be against Vision FC at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.
The Yellow and Mauves would have to put this home defeat behind them as they travel to Dansoman to face bottom-placed Dreams FC in their next game.
