Nurudeen Amadu has cited demotivation as the reason why he resigned from his post as head coach of FC Samartex 1996.
The 54-year-old experienced gaffer enjoyed a successful first season at the club, exceeding expectations by winning the 2023-25 Ghana Premier League.
Speaking on Max FM, Amadu revealed he made up his mind after a productive tête-à-tête with the president of the club, Dr Richard Duah Nsenkyire, whom he seldom met during his tenure at the club.
“He is a very kind and generous person who is also very understanding. I met with him on Monday on what he felt would help the team, which actually impressed me. Though he had been supportive, he tells me when I go wrong,” he said to Nana Darkwa Gyasi.
On the actual reason why he called it quits on his time at the Samaraboi-based club, Amadu expressed his unhappiness at club and lacking motivation to continue.
“If you are demotivated or not happy, then you’ll need to look elsewhere. Wherever you go, you’ll have to do your best,” Amadu stated.
