Isaah Yakubu, captain of the Black Galaxies, has firmly denied claims of unrest or divisions within the team’s camp.
Speaking on the rumours at a pre-game presser ahead of the Galaxies 2024 CHAN qualifier against Nigeria, Basake Holy Stars midfield maestro emphasized that the squad remains united despite representing different clubs and competing against one another in the Ghana Premier League.
“The camp is solid and unified. Even though we come from different clubs and face intense competition in the league, we don’t let that affect us here. The team spirit is strong, and we’ve built a bond that goes beyond rivalry”. Yakubu said.
He also credited the coaching staff for fostering a positive atmosphere, which he believes has been instrumental in strengthening team unity.
“The way the coaches interact with us, joking, talking, and engaging with the players creates a relaxed and supportive environment. It gives us the confidence to come together and build a unified camp”.
Ghana competed at the 2022 CHAN held in Algeria but crashed out at the quarterfinal stage after losing 2-0 to Niger.
