SuperSport in line to replace StarTimes as Ghana Premier League broadcast partner- Report

Following Ghana Football Association recent meeting with StarTimes on the possibility of extending contract, unfortunately both parties could not conclude in principles to renew the partnership.

Meanwhile, the Association remains committed to securing a transparent, fair and beneficially media partnership that aligns with the interests of our clubs, the association and our stakeholders.

However, Domesticsportsgh understands that the South African pay-TV giant Supersport are in crunch meeting to be the possible next media broadcast partners for the Ghana Premier League.

Nothing has been officially announced yet according reports, but trade gossip indicates that SuperSport is interested and has already been considering the Ghanaian market since the beginning of the year.

The collapse of talks with StarTimes – partly over matters of finances and an outstanding debt of over USD 842,000 – has witnessed the GFA searching for a stable and more open partner.

The GFA, eager to maximize the commercial attraction and media exposure of the league, could see in SuperSport a possible long-term ally who could guarantee on both fronts.
