Works resume at Axim Sports complex, set to be completed for Kundum Festival

Work has begun at the controversial Axim Sports complex, Domesticsportsgh.com can exclusively report.

The Axim Sports complex which was built by the past administration with a grant from the central government in 2018, is to receive a massive final facelift following a memorandum of understanding between the Municipal Assembly and the Bismat Construction Limited.

The latest agreement indicates that, work should be ‘at least’ completed before their seasonal Kundum Festival, which is celebrated by the people of Evalue, Ajomoro and Gwira.

The newly Chief Executive officer of the area, Hon.Kuah Dickson has reportedly met the contractors and engineers to speed up the project so that his people will use it to mark this year’s Kundum Festival in September.

In an exclusive interview with the Municipal Youth Speaker, Rth Hon.Jonas Kabutey has also ensured the youth for calmness and his outfit are working towards the completion of the project.

The Axim Sports complex is one of the ten sports complexes constructed by the past administration led by ex president Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo as part of its vision to promote sports in the rural areas.

The delay in the completion of the sports complex has by extension affected sports development in Axim and it is a major concern for the youth of the area.

The Axim Sports Complex if completed is expected to have a FIFA standard pitch, restaurant, ICT lab, Volley ball and Netball courts and few other facilities.
