Ex-Karela captain Philip Quarshie acquires GFA License D in Coaching

Former Karela United captain and Eleven Wise player, Philip Quarshie has completed a short course to acquire his GFA License D, with his dream of venturing into football coaching after retirement.

He was part of the eight-day program that took place mainly at the Sports Centre, Abelenkpe in the Accra Metropolitan district of the Greater Accra Region of Ghana.

Having completed this, Quarshie is now eligible to manage most of the lower-division sides in the country but will definitely look to continue with the learning process until he acquires the GFA A license which will make him eligible to work at the highest level.

Once a great defender and winger in the local topflight, he is remembered mostly by many a Ghanaian football faithful during his time with Karela United where he excelled and led the Nzema based club to their first Ghana Premier League qualification before leaving for abroad to play former Ivorian Ligue 1 Side USC Bassam and couple of clubs.

Quarshie leadership qualities and artistry were pivotal for the side in their historic qualification to the Ghana Premier League.
