GFA EXCO Member Gifty Oware-Mensah charged with Theft and Money Laundering

Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council Member Gifty Oware-Mensah has been charged by the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice for Ghana for allegedly stealing money and laundering state funds.

The football administrator was charged for allegedly stealing over 31.5 million Ghana Cedis while serving as the Deputy Executive Director of the National Service Authority (NSA) between February 2022 and March 2024.

The criminal charges levelled against Oware-Mensah include stealing, causing financial loss to the state, using public office for profit and money laundering.

The charges were filed at the High Court in Accra on Monday, October 13 and has been arraigned before the court for trial.

Gifty Oware-Mensah run unopposed in the GFA Elections in 2023 as the representative for the Women’s Category on the GFA Executive Council via her role as the bank roller of Malta Guinness Ghana Women’s Premier League side Berry Ladies.
