No Contribution, No Chop! Don’t Accept Hudson-Odoi or Nketiah – Saani Daara

With news resurfacing of foreign-born Ghanaians harbouring the desire to join the World Cup-bound Black Stars, Saani Daara has strongly warned against their inclusion.

English-born Callum Hudson-Odoi and Edward Keddar Nketia are speculated to have requested to be part of the triumphant Black Stars, which has generated a lot of conversation in the traditional and digital media settings.

Saani Daara, in an interview on Max FM’s Sports Pack, earnestly insisted the country must not be ungrateful to the players that contributed to Ghana securing a spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

“We should not be ungrateful… Let us repay our dedicated players in good faith,” he opined while recalling the number of attempts by Otto Addo and Ghana Football Association (GFA) president Kurt Okraku to convince Hudson-Odoi and Nketiah to switch allegiance.

He recalled a time when Asamoah Gyan and Derek Boateng called for the sacking of Kevin Prince Boateng from camp ahead of an international friendly against England in March 2011 after he rejected a call-up for an AFCON qualifier.

The former GFA spokesperson insisted Hudson-Odoi and Nketiah must only join the team after the 2026 FIFA World Cup and play in the next AFCON qualifiers.
