Concerned Youth of Nzema: Press Conference held themed non-operational status of the Petroleum Hub

The Concerned Youth of Nzema (CYN) led by its leader Rth Jonas Kabutey held a press conference to address what they deem as non operational status of the abandoned Petroleum Hub project in Jomoro.

The Jomoro Petroleum Hub which is situated in the Western Region, will house three refineries, multiple petrochemical plants, vast storage facilities and among others.

The project which broke ground in August 2024 includes a 300,000-barrel-per-day refinery, a petrochemical plant, and associated port and storage facilities.

It aims at establishing Ghana as West Africa’s petroleum hub, reduce regional fuel import dependence, create jobs and boots the Ghanaian economy.

The $ 60 billion project which was launched by the past government has since not been developed hence the Concerned Youth of Nzema pleads with the government to know the current status of the hub to help create jobs opportunities.

Kabutey Jonas and his members held a press conference yesterday Sunday, January 21, 2026 at the Kwame Nkrumah Museum in Nkroful
