GPL Clubs Nominate Hearts Board Chairman Togbe Afede & 2 Others on Premier League Autonomy Committee
The Board chairman of Hearts of Oak, Togbe Afede XIV, Mr Ansah of Ebusua Dwarfs and Delali Senaye of International Allies have been nominated by clubs in the country’s top-flight to represent them on the five-member autonomous committee.
The Ghana FA recently announced their intention of making the country’s top-flight autonomous, which has been long discussed by most football pundits.
Although there have been fears from some section of the football caucus of an autonomous Ghana Premier League becoming more powerful and swallowing the football association as is often seen in the case of the English Premier League and the English FA it appears the Kurt Okraku-led GFA administration is hell-bent on making the dream of an independent league a reality.
According to reports gathered by Kumasi-based radio station Sikka FM, Togbe Afede XIV makes the list as well as Mr Ansah and Delali Senaye of Ebusua Dwarfs and Inter Allies respectively. With the Premier League filling its three slots of the five, the Ghana FA is set to come out with their chosen representatives as the GFA makes the league autonomous according to latest report in Kumasi .
