Former defender blames Togbe for Hearts of oak trophyless run
Ex Hearts of oak defender Dan Quaye
has launched a scathing attack on the club’s board chairman Togbe Afede XIV and blamed him for their trophy drought .
The former player accuses the highly respected traditional ruler ,who is also the CEO of strategic Africa Securities ( SAS ) of running a one-man show at the club .
Togbe Afede was appointed as the board chairman of the club in the 2011 – 2012 season after acquiring majority shares ( 40% Percent ) after a floatation exercise to raise 2.5 million Ghana Cedis .
Under his reign ,Hearts of Oak have gone almost 11 years without a trophy and that has decimated his efforts despite the massive financial injections as board Chairman .
Quaye ,a member of the 2000 CAF Champions league and 2001 CAF super cup winning squad explained why the club have not won a title since 2009 .
“He said ” it is because of how some kind of people are running the club ,Hearts doesn’t belong to Togbe ,the club belongs to the Supporters, but now its him who controls everything ,so I feel the shares they floated is very wrong ” we are suffering because of the shares they floated ” he told ghanasportspage .
