SWAG President Kwabena Yeboah wants Gov’t to Support Local Football Clubs
President of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG), Mr. Kwabena Yeboah wants government to aid local football clubs financially as they face economic challenges due to the novel coronavirus which has become pandemic.
Football activities have been put to a halt since 15 March 2020 following the rapid widespread of the deadly disease worsening the financial burden on football clubs.
Clubs are struggling to mitigate the financial difficulties they are currently enduring and have already initiated steps to enforce certain cost cutting measures.
SWAG boss believes that for the football clubs to be able to cope with the financial challenges, the government must offer them a relief package in other for them to survive.
“The Ministry of Youth and Sports and the central government must in a way try and come to the aid of the football association and by extension the clubs to ensure their survival,” he said on the PM Express Show on Joy News on Wednesday.
