The pandemic has caused a huge financial burden to most of Ghana’s Premier league clubs.

The impact of the coronavirus on elite sports has been very devastating. Major sporting events including Euro 2020 ,FIFA Competitions and the Tokyo Olympics games have been postponed with some events being cancelled all together.

Professional sports organisations and clubs are suffering financially due to the outbreak of the novel disease.

Economically, revenues associated with matchday
s, sponsorships and televisions are down across the board due to the pandemic.

In Ghana, majority of our premier league teams are struggling and finding it difficult to overcome players Salaries and bonuses.

Per our reports, Ghana Premier league giants Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak have been captured over unpaid salaries following the truncation of the Ghana Premier league season.

The Ghana football season was cancelled earlier this months due to the rapid spread of the virus in Ghana.

Clubs like King Faisal, Dwarfs, Liberty Profesionals,Techiman Eleven Wonders,Dreams Fc and Legon Cities are all in financial crises to settle players arrears.

Our data analysis was based on the month the government banned all social gatherings including sporting events as a major steps to curb the disease from spreading.

Our investigations team led by Esther Blay Dickson(Punch Lady)had exclusive engagement with some players and club officials on the state of the financial strength with respect to their salaries and other
bonuses.

Below are the list of Ghana Premier league clubs that owe their players since March according to the interactions we had with some of the players and club officials.
