BIG BLOW: Richard Senanu ruled out for another six months.
Asante Kotoko midfielder Richard Senanu has been forced back to the treatment room in his bid to return to full fitness from an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) surgery.
Senanu suffered a knee injury in the 2018/19 Caf Confederation Cup match against Zambian side Zesco United which has kept him on the sidelines for more than a year.
After a successful surgery in Germany and a recuperation session in Ghana, the 26-year-old set his sights on walking back into the team ahead of the 2020/21 season but he is not medically fit to compete, it emerged this week.
Sources close to Domesticsportsgh.com exclusively reveal that the player, who was not able to train on Wednesday evening with the club in their pre-season sessions, has been ruled out of playing competitively for the next six months as scans run by the medical team reveal he has to be shut down for full recovery.
This means the player will not be seen in action for the next season’s Ghana Premier League.
