Hunt makes big Chiefs admission
Kaizer Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt has admitted the absence of supporters is one of the reasons the team has endured difficult times this season.
Chiefs had a horrendous start to the campaign when they suffered a 5-0 annihilation at the hands of arch-rivals Orlando Pirates in the MTN8 semi-final, which preceded their free-fall in the DStv Premiership.

While Amakhosi have since catapulted themselves up from 14th to seventh on the league table, they are still in somewhat of a volatile situation after back-to-back draws against Stellenbosch and Baroka.
In the build-up to yet another Soweto Derby, Hunt has admitted that they “greatly” miss the presence of their ever-vocal supporters spurring them on from the stands.
“100 percent. I think there’ve been good days and bad days, but I think generally we need the support that I think could [help us],”
“Most certainly for me, I think we would have gotten a few more points but it is what it is, it’s the whole world that has been affected.
“A team like Kaizer Chiefs certainly cry out for the supporters, there’s no doubt about it, and I think it certainly alleviates them and gets them to another level, and you certainly miss it.
“I was really looking forward to that, coming to a club like Chiefs, because I’ve always been the other way around – it would be 50 000 [Chiefs fans] and we’ve had 500 maybe.
“So it happens, and nobody saw this coming. But ja, we do miss the supporters greatly.”
