Johnson Smith does the biting as Karela United falls today
A day fans of Karela United FC would not want to remember as Johnson Smith led his side, Kumasi Asante Kotoko to break the jinx at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park.
A venue where after so much games has been a fortress. In 56 league games, Karela United were not beaten, having won 54, drawn 2 with no lost in those games, ex-Karela fullback, Imoro Ibrahim and in form striker Kwame Poku gave Kotoko a commanding 2-0 win over the Passioners.
Karela United created the best of chances, about four in the first half but never utilized those chances created but with just a chance created, Kwame Poku assisted Imoro who blast the ball past Richard Baidoo.
Kotoko came into the game very well especially in the second half. Latif Anabila and Emmanuel Sarkodie’s partnership in the middle overshadowed the brilliant Franklin Osei who had controlled the game from midfield in the first half for Karela United.
In fact Karela United missed the services of Sadiq Alhassan and Umar Bashiru who missed the game due to cards accumulation.
In fact, this very game has been Kotoko’s best game so far in the season.
