Report: AshGold midfield Kingpin Appiah McCarthy set to miss the rest of the season
Injured Ashanti Gold SC midfielder, Appiah McCarthy is set to miss the rest of the 2020/2021 football season following a delay in his recovery process.
The bossy midfielder started the Ghana Premier League season on a bright note with outstanding performances that helped the team to win matches.
Midway through the first round of the season, Appiah McCarthy picked up an injury during an appearance in the game against Legon Cities FC at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Although he was expected to recover after six weeks, the midfielder has not made the expected progress in the treatment room and hence could be out for a longer period.
According to sources, he has been left out of the Ashanti Gold SC squad for the second round of the Ghana Premier League season due to the prolonged stay on the sidelines.
Before his injury, Appiah McCarthy made 10 appearances for the Miners where he scored three goals to help the team.
