The Confederation of African Football (Caf) has confirmed the disqualification of Tanzania’s Biashara United from the 2021/22 Caf Confederation Cup.
Biashara United did not show up for their second preliminary return fixture in Libya against Ahly Tripoli last month.
Biashara United won the first leg 2-0 at home but claimed they could not travel for the return game on 23 October, 2021, at Martyrs of Benina Stadium, Benghazi due to flight problems.
Ahly Tripoli will now proceed to the additional second Preliminary round against Mali’s Stade Malien.
Biashara United could face further sanctions from Caf, including a ban from the competition and a fine.
The club is already reportedly preparing an appeal against the decision.
