Defending champions Hearts of Oak are winless after three matches in the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League (GPL) and striker Kofi Kordzi has labelled the run as ‘shameful.’
The Phobians were held to a 1-1 draw by Aduana FC at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.
Hearts had led with an early goal through the boots of Kordzi but a late penalty converted by Bright Adjei denied them their first three points of the new campaign.
Though unbeaten with three successive drawn games so far, coach Samuel Boadu’s side is six points adrift top spot currently co-occupied by arch-rivals Asante Kotoko and King Faisal.
“It is very difficult, but three games without a win as champions is shameful.
“We will try and get back to our best as soon as possible,” Kordzi who has scored the Phobians’ two goals so far said.
“It’s not easy at all, because as champions, every other team plays with extra determination when they come up against you,” he added.
Hearts of Oak play guests to AshantiGold on match-day four.
