A Veronica Appiah double and Edith Ogbonna’s own goal did the trick for the Caf Women’s Champions League finalists, while Gladys Amfobea and Ellen Coleman got the consolations for LadyStrikers in the grand finale played at Madina Zurak Park.

Today’s trophy is Hasmal’s fourth in the 2020/21 season in five finals they have participated in.

Appiah slotted in the opener for the league champions after picking a loose ball just at the edge of the box, faking a shot with her right before putting it into the net with her left in 14 minutes.

With four minutes to the end of the first half, Appiah rounded goalkeeper Ntiwaa Nketsia to calmly score her second and end the half 2-0 against LadyStrikers.

Centre-back Ogbonna lifted a long Hasaacas set-piece over Nketsia into her own net two minutes to the hour mark, making it 3-0 against her side.

Amfobea started LadyStrikers’ failed comeback with 10 minutes to the end of the game, curling brilliantly into the base of the left post from a free-kick.

Ellen Coleman brought LadyStrikers within one of Hasaacas when she thumped into the left top corner with four minutes to 90.

Yussif Basigi’s side was able to hold out for a 3-2 win to lift the maiden Women’s Premier Super Cup.

AWARDS;
Most Valuable Player – Gladys Amfobea (LadyStrikers)

Best goalkeeper – Diana Maaweremou (Hasaacas Ladies)

Discovery of the tournament – Latifa Abesik (Ampem Darkoa)

Top scorer (joint) – Gladys Amfobea (LadyStrikers) and Mary Amponsah (Ampem Darkoa)
