With making their debut in Ghana’s Division II League and having to play at home, Nhyiraba FC had to come from behind to get a point.
With the game having to start at 3:30pm, it delayed to about 30 minutes. Both teams started very well, playing some beautiful game where TanoeAkuba took the lead through their striker Francis Azane on the 32nd minute.
The host, Nhyiraba FC created some couple of chances after they had been put behind in a goal. Kakou Brau Pacome played a long pass which found Boris Assamoi but goalkeeper Augustine Ndaku Kpolley was quick to clear his lines.
Another long pass from Dicoh Mohammed which broke the defense of TanoeAkuba located captain Assamoi Boris who crossed it beautifully for Rachid Dawda and he nodded it in to the net on the 38th minute. The first game ended one all.
The second half started with same intensity which is very high for both teams. Midfield battles were many in this half, physically and technically but creating of goalscoring chances were rare.
The first chance in the second half felt to Charles Stephen when Dicoh played a pass through the middle with a dummy from Boris, the pass felt to Charles Stephens but missed the glorious chance.
A collision between Boris and TanoeAkuba’s shotstopper, Ndaku Kpolley halted the game for about 10 minutes but the goalkeeper responded treated and the game continued.
No more big chances and no goal as the game ended 1-1 with the home team yearning for a win in the opening fixture.
