Former Bafana Bafana international Siphiwe Tshabalala has refused to call time on an illustrious playing career despite his advanced age in his search for a new club.
Tshabalala has made just three appearances lasting 155 minutes in the last three years since his return from a stint with Turkish club BB Erzurumspor in 2019.
The veteran midfielder didn’t feature for the entire 2019/20 campaign before moving to AmaZulu last term where he made just three appearances.
Due to turn 38 this year, Tshabalala has remained vague on his immediate playing future.
Rumours have in recent times suggested that there have been talks with Baroka after the possibility of joining the Limpopo.
However, it appears Tshabalala preferred a club in Gauteng, which would also enable him to pursue other commitments that he has.
The former Kaizer Chiefs is known to have other business interests outside of football that he gives his attention to.
As he continues unattached, he has this season lost his place atop the Chiefs all-time top scorers list in the PSL era years to Bernard Parker who has since gone over the 60 goals mark.
The left-footer scored 58 goals in all competitions through the 11-and-a-half years that he spent at Naturena.
Tshabalala’s dream to surpass Aaron Mokoena’s record haul of 107 caps has also gone up in smoke having won the last of his 91 Bafana Bafana in 2017 against Senegal.
He is one of only a few players from the 2010 World Cup squad who haven’t retired as yet along with Itumeleng Khune, Tsepo Masilela and Bernard Parker.
