The former Kotoko defender scored a fantastic free-kick, but it wasn’t enough to give the Phobians three points as they were held by Elmina Sharks in Accra.

The goal by Inkoom came in the first minute and lasted 27 minutes. Michael Asamoah equalised for the Sharks, who earned a crucial point in their relegation battle.

Real Tamale United remained in the relegation zone despite claiming a shock 2-1 win over league leaders Asante Kotoko at the Aliu Mahama Stadium.

RTU, on their return to the venue, which had been barred from hosting games for some time due to hooliganism, raced into the lead thanks to a well-taken penalty by Ronald Frimpong.

Victor Aidoo extended the lead as he headed home 14 minutes from time after Kotoko goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim misjudged a cross.

Franck Mbella Etouga reduced the deficit with his 17th goal of the season as Kotoko attempted a late comeback, but RTU held firm.

It was Kotoko’s first loss since February 2 but remain eight points clear at the top because second-placed Bechem United conceded three late goals to lose 3-2 to Eleven Wonders.

Bechem had a two-nil lead with 10 minutes, but Wonders lived up to their name by scoring in the 81st minute, drawing level in the 98th minute, and then scoring the winning goal in the 99th minute.

WAFA returned to winning ways by beating Berekum Chelsea 3-2 in a five-goal thriller in Sogakope.

Bibiani GoldStars recorded a 2-1 win over Great Olympics 2-1 at home to move further away from the relegation zone.
