Otto Addo wants to do Black Stars-Dortmund jobs simultaneously

Former Ghana international Otto Addo has stated that he will meet with Dortmund to discuss the possibility of remaining as Black Stars coach.

Addo is a trainer scout at Dortmund and is in line to be named substantive Black Stars coach after excelling as interim coach.

Last month, Addo led Ghana to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar at the expense of Nigeria.

“I am meeting with my bosses [Dortmund] on Thursday to discuss the Black Stars job and the possibility of continuing with them. Sure [I am willing to do Black Stars job] but I have to discuss the contract.

“I have a good relationship [with Dortmund] so I hope they will allow me to continue to coach the Black Stars. Hopefully [I will be able to work with Dortmund and Black Stars at the same time],” Addo said in a recent interview.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) met with Dortmund before naming Addo as interim Black Stars coach for the World Cup playoffs.

GFA President Kurt Okraku debunked reports last week that Addo had signed a one-year deal to coach the Black Stars for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and World Cup.

“I woke up this morning to many stories on coach Otto Addo. Truth [is] Ghana has not met with his employers [Dortmund] yet. Steps are being taken to that effect and we will keep everybody informed on progress made.

“Getting our technical team in place for upcoming assignments is high on the agenda of our football association,” Okraku wrote on his official Facebook page.
