FC Samartex 1996 are one win away to make their premiership dream a reality one, According to club sources, they have been awarded the three maximum points and three goals following Achiken FC failure to turn up for their matchday 26 clash based on the Ghana Football Association competition’s regulation in Article 22.2d(i), which says, if opponent (A) failed to honour the match against opponent (B) after 30 minutes with no formal reports, the Referees have the right to end the game.
However, Samartex who are four games away to end the season, will mathematically need just three points to make it to the Ghana Premier League for the very first time in the club’s history.
Samartex will play Swedru All Blacks, Sekondi- Hasaacas, Future Stars and will wrap up their season with a game against New Edubiase, which will be a coronation match if they grab six points out of their five games including Achiken FC game.
Coach Henry Wellington’s side are comfortably at the summit of the Division One Zone II league with 57 points after 25 games.
Samartex made it to the Ghana second tier football in 2014 and have gone on searching for Ghana Premier League football for several years.
