According to coach Walker, Ganiyu has not been in the best shape since returning from injury which saw him miss five games for the Porcupine Warriors.

35 players have been invited to report to camp at 4pm on Monday, May 30, 2022, at the Ghanaman Centre of Excellence to prepare for the CHAN qualifiers..

“I give a call-up according to performances. When you talk of Ganiyu he is coming from injury and of late his performance is not good with Kotoko for now,” coach Walker told Ghanasportspage.com

“Maybe until he gets well and picks his form I don’t have a problem.”

Ganiyu has made 21 appearances for Asante Kotoko and scored one so far this season.

The Black Stars ‘B’ will play Benin in the preliminary stage of the qualifiers in search of a ticket to the biennial competition scheduled for Algeria in January 2023.

Ghana have failed to qualify for the tournament in the last three editions and will hope to make another appearance this time around.

The Black Stars ‘B’ finished 2nd in 2009 and in 2014.
