After three match days, Breman Essiam Socrates from the Central Region are leading the pack, determined to pick up from where they left off in last year’s competition.

Last season, they almost earned a slot after four attempts, only edged out after a protest cost them the chance.

They seem to have learned their lesson and at this competition, they are letting their experience show will need just a point in the remaining two matches to book their historic promotion to the Women’s Premier League.

They beat Greater Accra champions Ridge City 1-0 in a keenly contested fixture at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park in Nzema Aiyinase.

Which means, Ridge City, the Greater Accra champions have recorded their first defeat in the hands of league Leaders Esiama Socrates.

Lower Manya Krobo-based Rootz Sistaz, representing Eastern Region, suffered 2-1 against Anlo Ladies, and Hassport got their first point after sharing spoils with Kasoa-based Blessed Ladies.

After match day three, Socrates lead the pack with nine points, Ridge City are 2nd with four points and superior goals ahead of Rootz who are 3rd with four points, Anlo Ladies are 4th with 4 points, Blessed Ladies 5th with 2 points with Hassport Ladies last on the summit with 1 point.

The action in the southern zone resumes on Friday with the following fixtures:

8:30 Rootz Sistaz vs Hassport Ladies
10:30 Blessed Ladies vs Essiam Socrates
3:00 Ridge City vs Anlo Ladies

Results
Match Day 3

Ridge City 0-1 Essiam Socrates
Rootz Sisters 1-2 Anlo Ladies
Hassport 2-2 Blessed Ladies
