Basake Holy Stars got off to a winning start in the new season with a hard-fought win over former top-flight outfits New Edubiase.
In the second half, Prince Opoku scored the game’s only goal from the spot, breaking Edubiase’s resolve.
The Yenko Nkoaa lads had held off Holy Stars and were feeling confident of returning home with at least a point before Opoku scored from the penalty, sending CAM Park into a frenzy.
Holy Stars had a great off-season and will be pleased to have gotten off to an awesome start, but there is still room for improvement.
Holy Stars will travel on a short distance to play their neighbors Nzema Kotoko in week 2 at the Awulae Amihere Kpanyinli Sports Arena in Ampain.
