Ghana Premier League heavyweight Medeama SC has been rated as the most valuable and expensive football club in the Western Region, according to the latest data captured by Transfermarkt.com.
The metric for the ranking was based on the value of the playing body which includes assets and other vital information of the club.

After the valuation of all playing body and their current status in the transfers market as at Sunday April 2, 2023, Medeama SC were rated as the most valuable club as they have a squad value of €1.91M and currently 4th in the national ranking.
Surprisingly Karela United who are struggling in the current season were rated second in the region and 8th in the country with €1.75m, Samartex who just joined the league this season were rated third, and Bibiani Goldstars 4th on the chart with €1.53M.
In the lower division side, Nzema Kotoko have been rated 5th in the region.Division One Zone 2 league leaders Skyy FC occupied 6th position, whiles Basake Holy Stars and Sewfi All Stars occupied 7th and 8th position respectively.
Two traditional clubs in the Western Region, Sekondi Hasaacas and XI Wise despite playing in the Division Two league have not been left out and captured as well for the 9th and 10 position with a least values of €50,000 and
30.000 respectively.
In the national ranking defending league champions Asante Kotoko tops the table as the most expensive club in Ghana football with a squad value of €2.8M followed closely by arch rivals Hearts of Oak €2.15m).
