Stephen Appiah played at the apex of international and club football in his playing days and is of the view that former Ghanaian footballers should be given the opportunity to lead the administrative affairs of Ghanaian football.

The former Juventus midfielder made his thoughts known in an interview with Kumasi based radio station Sompa FM.

“Legends are not getting their chance around football administration. I have learnt something that football is run by footballers it is not grammar or English you speak.”

“It’s about insight. That is why when I went to Italy without speaking Italian I could understand the coach who was speaking in Italian.” He said.

“I hope one day, maybe not necessarily Stephen Appiah, I hope one day; one of us will get to lead and we support” he added.
