Coach Salifu Fatawu has said his Hearts of Lions team “deserved” to be promoted into the Ghana topflight football after their impressive season with a complete performance in the ongoing campaign.
Lions defeated Golden Kicks 4-2 in the matchday 25 away fixture to opened an 19-points gab lead and coach Salifu spoke with a powerful sense of vindication following an impressive all his hard since leaving Swedru All Blacks.
Lions has played good football throughout the campaign and Coach Salifu believed the promotion was about years of hard work and good performance.
‘It wasn’t easy though, but hard work has paid us, and we really deserve to be promoted” he told Citi TV.
This was really important for us, we deserved it”, he said.This team has shown many important things”.
The former Swedru All Blacks coach was also an instrumental figure in the national U20 team that won gold in the Afcon tournament in Mauritania in 2021.
Kpando Hearts of Lions are staging a comeback to elite football after being relegated in the 2014/15 season.
Members of the Division One League Board are expected to present them a trophy, medals and prize money after match-day 26 game against A5 Rences at the Kpando Park on Sunday.
