Samartex 1996 defeated Accra Hearts of Oak 3-2 in Samreboi in their matchday 30 game played at Nseinkyire Park on Sunday afternoon.
The match drew a massive crowd, defying the trend of low fan attendance in the league this season.
Asante Kotoko, Hearts of Oak, Great Olympics, Medeama SC, Aduana Stars, Karela United have been the worst affected by this drop in attendance.
However, Samartex has seen an incredible turnout at their home games, and Sunday’s match against Hearts of Oak was no exceptional.
The home crowd was a significant factor in the win as Samartex secured a hard fought 3-2 victory.
The late winner on the 93rd minutes were enough to give the newly promoted side a 3-2 advantage to grab the maximum points of the day.
The win put Samartex out of the relegation zone with 42 points in sixth position on the Ghana Premier League, whiles Hearts of Oak remain 5th position with 45 points after 30 games.
