According to report, Sekondi High Court has fixed a date to administer judgement in the case between the Republic and the accused, Philip Flamini, a player of Karela United who is standing a trial for allegedly defiling a 13-year old school girl from Akpandue in the Ellembelle District of the Western Region.
The 24-year old player is alleged to have defiled the teenager, an incident which is said to have taken place at the team’s club house which happened on Saturday April, 29, 2023 and the suspect was arraigned before Court on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 where he pleaded guilty for defiling the young girl and was later remanded for one week.
On Tuesday 9 May, 2023, the former Hasaacas midfielder reappeared at the Nkroful District court and according to Mr. Jonas Kabutey, the Ellembelle Social Welfare boss, who is also the Paralegal of the Western Region has confirmed that the case has been referred to Sekondi High court to determine Philip Flamini’s fate.
“Here is a District court, since it’s a defilement case and a big issue, his fate will now be determined by the Sekondi Circuit Court” he told West End Radio.
“So the case has been referred to Sekondi High Court”.he added.
Meanwhile, Karela United has already responded with a communique to suspend Philip Flamini from duty.
The talented midfielder who is in police custody for defilement joined Karela United from Sekondi Hasaacas on a 2-year contract deal in 2021.
