Head coach of Ghana Premier League(GPL) team, Dream FC, Karim Zito, has cautioned his players not to underestimate low-tier sides in the ongoing 2022/23 MTNFA Cup competition.
Dreams FC had to dig deep to beat Legon Cities 1-0 after extra time in the first quarterfinal match of the 2022/23 MTN FA Cup on March 29 after the tie was 0-0 at the end of normal play time at Dawu Park.
They will face Division One side Skyy FC on Saturday, May 13 in the first semifinal match and will be hoping to book a place in the finals and go on to win the ultimate for the first time in the club’s history.
Speaking in an interview with Happy 98.9FM ahead of Dreams FC’s semifinal clash with Skyy FC, Coach Zito said,”.
“Dreams FC played lots of Division One sides during the preseason so we know how to play them. We should not underrate these Division One sides because they are very tough sides and they play with a very high level of intensity and they will be looking to also prove a point in this competition. Many Premier League clubs often underrate these low-tier sides which is very dangerous but I have cautioned my boys and the advantage we have is we’ve played them before so we are looking forward to Saturday,”
Dreams FC, King Faisal, Skyy FC, and Nsoatreman FC, the remaining teams in the competition will battle it out for the ultimate at Abrankese-based Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Stadium for a place in the finals this weekend.
