In an interview with Onua Sport, former Ghanaian international Emmanuel Osei Kuffour has recommended that the technical staff of the Black Stars exclude captain Andre Ayew from the national team.
Kuffour, who achieved success with Hearts of Oak by winning the CAF Champions League, expressed his belief that Ayew’s time with the Black Stars has come to an end and advocated for the inclusion of emerging talents like Kudus Mohammed.
During his playing career, Kuffour, affectionately known as “The General,” cited Ayew’s long tenure with the national team as the main factor behind his recommendation. While acknowledging Ayew’s experience and contributions, Kuffour stressed the importance of making room for younger players to showcase their abilities on the international stage.
“Andre Ayew is done with the Black Stars and should be given an exit in order to pave the way for emerging talents like Kudus Mohammed,” asserted Kuffour.
“Dede Ayew has been with the Black Stars since 2008, and it’s time for him to step aside. Kudus Mohammed, Kamaldeen Sulemana, and others also need the opportunity to show us what they are capable of.”
