Karela United head coach Shaibu Ibrahim Tanko has hailed his team’s fighting spirit and commitment in their 1-1 pulsating draw with Kumasi Asante Kotoko.
The Passioners had to come from behind to claim a point after defender Abdul Rashid Mohammed scored an own goal in the 29th minutes of the game.
The Aiyinase based club pushed for the equalizer after the break and were rewarded in the 75th minute when Fatawu Mohammed scored for Karela to level the game at 1-1.
Coach Shaibu Ibrahim Tanko after the game gave credit to the fighting spirit of his Lads though admitting they could have done better with their defending.
“I think that today we had a good game” we could have won the game if we were able to utilize our chances”.
“The boys did well by fighting and it showed they were very committed when we were down”.
Karela United remains in the 16th position with 41 points and will look forward to win their last two games against Bibiani Goldstars and Kotoko Royals to stay in the league.
