Brighton Hove Albion defender Tariq Lamptey insists he will be fit enough to play at the top level, setting an ambitious target of staging a return to the Black Stars soon.
Lamptey has been on the sidelines for the past few months due to injury and is expected to miss Ghana’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Madagascar in June.
In an interview with Citi FM, the Ghanaian star said he is looking forward to a return to Black Stars ahead of the remaining Afcon 2023 qualifiers.
” Am little bit ok, and will join my guys soon, I will be fully fit” he said.
The former Chelsea defender despite representing youth teams of England switched allegiance to play for the Black Stars in July 2022 and was included in the final 26-man squad for the World Cup.
Tariq also revealed that the heartwarming support from Ghanaians during his charity foundation compelled him to switch from playing for England to represent Ghana.
