Gladson Awako, the club captain, voiced his disappointment in the club for not keeping their private meeting a secret after denying widespread rumors that he had been fired by Accra Hearts of Oak.
It was reported that Hearts of Oak’s number 10 had been sacked by the club on Thursday morning, with the experienced midfielder publicly refuting all the claims and further affirming that he is still a Hearts of Oak player.
In his submission, the 32-year-old midfielder disclosed he had a meeting with the Club’s Board members, where his future with the club was discussed, but remains disappointed that the team couldn’t keep their conversation a secret.
In an exclusive interview with Max FM, Awako said, “I had a meeting with the Club’s Board members, where Odotei, Alhaji, Jones, and Efua were all present. We spoke about my future with the club, but not about parting ways. I am surprised the news is all over the place.”
“This is not the first time this has happened. ” I am very disappointed in the Club for what is happening”, the former Accra Great Olympics midfielder added.
Gladaon Awako had an underwhelming season with the Phobians last season, with a high number of injuries affecting his game time as well as his performances. He played just 12 times and scored twice for the 21-time league champions.
