The 10 Regional Football Association chairmen have pledged their support for Kurt Okraku’s re-election bid, with regional FA chairmen from Western, Central, Ashanti, Upper West, and Greater Accra regions supporting his candidacy.
The upcoming Elective Congress on September 27 may see Okraku face off against former Vice President of the Ghana Football Association, who finished as the runner-up in the 2019 presidential election.
Okraku’s tenure as FA boss has seen significant achievements for Ghana’s national football teams, including the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations victory in 2021 and the senior national team’s return to the global stage.
Kurt Okraku’s first term as President of the federation comes to an end in October, with the FA set for elections.
However, Berekum Chelsea’s Bernard Amofa Jantuah has reportedly made himself available to compete for the position.
Former vice president of the Association George Afriyie has also announced his candidature to contest Kurt Okraku.
