Togbe made this announcement during a recent gathering of the club’s stakeholders. Since becoming the majority shareholder in 2011, Togbe has consistently pursued a transformative mission for the club, evident in projects like the Pobiman Complex, which is nearing completion and has already been utilised by the team for pre-season training.

Addressing the assembled stakeholders, Togbe Afede stated, “After the Pobiman is done, the only thing we don’t have is a big stadium. CAF requires a minimum 25,000-capacity stadium. After all this, that is what we want to do. I can assure you that the board, as visionary and future-oriented as it is, has already started looking for land for that stadium. We are ticking all the boxes but it is not easy.”

As one of the prominent clubs in Africa, Hearts of Oak boast an illustrious history, clinching the CAF Champions League, CAF Confederation Cup, and CAF Super Cup. They have also been crowned Ghanaian champions 20 times, however, their recent track record on both continental and local fronts has witnessed some challenges.

Despite ending their over-decade-long drought for the Ghana Premier League title in 2021, they grappled with relegation last season, narrowly securing their position with a crucial draw on the final day.

Hearts of Oak may have struggled last season, but fans have high expectations for the upcoming season, with the club tipped to win the league.
