Goalkeeper of Ghana Premier League side Legon Cities, Sylvester Sackey is reportedly dead, according to report we have gathered.

According to sources close to our desk, the stopper passed away today, September 12, 2023, in a bizzare manner.

Sylvester, we understands his demise comes after he had complain bitterly of stomach pains and was rushed to a hospital.

However, the 26-year-old could not hold unto his breath despite all efforts by medical officers on duty who tried to savage the situation.

It is with a heavy heart that we sadly announce the passing of our goalkeeper, Sylvester Sackey.

Sackey has been with us the last four seasons and was our first choice goalkeeper for a greater part of the last two seasons.

He was thus confirmed dead by the medical officers with the body been deposited at the hospital morgue pending autopsy.

His demise is a big blow to everyone associated with the club.

Our hearts & thoughts are with the bereaved family at this very difficult time.

The club is in touch with the family of Sylvester & would communicate our next course of action in the coming days.

Sylvester Sackey is remembered by the Royals fraternity with his exploits in the 2022/23 MTN FA Cup campaign.
