The former Ghana national team goalkeper William Essu has been heavily stricken by disease for sometime and require proper medical treatment to insulate him from any other serious situation.

In an earlier interview with Medeama FM which was monitored by Domesticsportsgh.com, the wife of the ailing former Ghana U20 goalkeper broke the news immediately after the demise of Legon Cities goalkeeper Sylvester Sackey on Tuesday.
According to the wife, Eunice Ama Baisie, she revealed that her husband is presently in critical condition and needs an immediate intervention to boost his well being.

However, with is current predicament, William Essu has sent a passionate appeal to the Ghana Football Association and the Ministry of Youth and Sports to pay him and his teammates outstanding winning bonuses dating back in two years ago to pay for some medical bills.
The 24-year old was part of the Black Satellites squad that made it to the 2021 both WAFU and African U20 championship in Niger.
Essu was also left out from the Black Meteors squad during the Afcon U-23 Championship in Algeria due to his current illness.
