Raising of a children or inherit property
is a communal activity in Akan societies, with such arrangement, a child or children could have many fathers. In such situation, if one’s biological father dies or is absent, there are many others to collectively play his role.
But the late Senator David Cobbinah Brigidi’s situation in above proverbs speaks in a different story following the sales of his properties which includes his favorite outfit, Karela United Football club.
Its 5-year today, 30th September, 2018, at the Guy’s Cancer Centre, London Bridge Hospital, God called home Senator David Cobbinah Saigha Brigidi to eternal rest. Like a vapour, this own loving husband, father, brother, friend and leader, passed on peacefully on that cold and frosty Sunday morning.

The cause of his death remains a tightly guided secret, but speculations are that he died from complications from cancer.

Senator Brigidi was one of the most enigmatic and impactful leaders the Nigerian based Niger Delta ever produced. He was Teacher, Inspirational, Orator, Lawyer, a born Leader of Men, astute Mentor, Politician, Diplomat, Sports Promoter, and successful Businessman.

The burly West African Politician and former Nigerian lawmaker left behind a lots of companies in his mother tribe, Nzema, namely: Karela Beach Resort, Karela Oil and Gas, Karela farms and also another example of his footprints he left behind is the famous Karela United Football Club, in Nzema-Aiyinase, which he bought over in 2014 from Sekondi Metropolis Assembly as Metro SC.
But sadly, all these companies are no more in existence just 5-years after his demise.
Just Recently, his last existing brand, Karela United was sold to former Minority Leader, Haruna iddrisu due to financial reasons according to his wife, Abena Brigidi, who revealed this to Domesticsportsgh.com.

Some people have been blaming his wife and family members for the collapse of his companies.
Currently, the former lawmaker cannot boast of any legacy on Nzema soil not even a pin to show, one may ask! How come and what happened?
“Upon all his efforts to bring Premier league football to Nzema land for the first since 1958, that efforts has become useless following the sale of Karela United”.
Late David Cobbinah. Brigidi, was a lawyer by profession and was elected Senator for the Bayelsa Central constituency of Bayelsa State, Nigeria at the start of the Nigerian Fourth Republic, running on the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) platform from May 2000 to May 2007.
