Jorge Vilda, a former manager of Spain, has been named head coach of the Moroccan women’s team.
Spain won the Women’s World Cup this past summer after defeating England 1-0 in the tournament’s final match under Vilda’s leadership.
However, the Luis Rubiales scandal’s repercussions led to the 42-year-old’s dismissal from his position within a month.
Reynald Pedros, who guided Morocco in advancing to their first Women’s World Cup in 2023 and losing to France in the round of 16, is replaced by him.
