Chief Executive Officer for Bibiani Gold Stars, Akwasi Adu, has opened up on the appointment of former Bofoakwa Tano head coach Stephen Frimpong Manso.

The club officially announced on Wednesday via its x handle, @GoldStarsSC, that Michael Osei had been relieved of his role as head coach of the Miners after a string of bad results that plunged the team to 16th on the league standings after 13 matches.

Michael Osei joined Bibiani Gold Stars in the 2020/21 season where they gained promotion to Ghana’s top-flight league and after three seasons with the Miners, the club will part ways with the former Kotoko player.

Akwasi Adu who spoke to Citi Sports in an exclusive interview, is confident the appointment of Frimpong Manso will give the team a strong finish to the end of the Ghana Premier League first round.

You look at the leaders of the league and the team’s (that are) bottom of the table, the points build up is not so wide that someone can confidently say he/she has won the league.

If we are to win our next games, our situation at the bottom of the table can be changed to mid-table.

We still believe that, the 21 matches remaining, we can get a good run… and with the new coach coming, it will be a huge motivation for the team.

I think we are still on course and is possible we can finish the season on a high.
