A cross-section of Ghanaian citizens in Abidjan have expressed their discontent with the performance of the senior national team, the Black Stars in the ongoing Afcon 2023 in Ivory Coast.
The Black Stars were beaten 2-1 in the opening game of the Total energies Africa Cup of Nations against Cape Verde in a game played at the Stade Felix Houphouet Boigny on Sunday night.
A cross-section of football fans in Abidjan have shared their thoughts with Domesticsportsgh.com over the performance of the team yesterday against Cape Verde.
“Though the team performed below expectation, the coach should be given more time. I believe the backroom staff is not aiding him well and I think we need changes there.
“I don’t fancy the idea of (we) going for Chris Hughton”
“We are no more “interested” in the Black Stars due to their poor performance and call-ups to the national had not been firm and fair.”
They added that there were no competition in the Black Stars again because some players think that their positions were secured.
” Look I am very sad that we are going home, because with this performance no, no”.
