The Municipal Youth Parliament for the Evalue Ajomoro Gwira have issued a 2-month ultimatum to the government to complete and commissioned Axim Youth Resources centre or face their wrath.
The residents say the community has been denied its share of national development as it cannot boast of a single amenity provided by the government hence the first Youth Resources centre started in Ghana has still not been completed.
” We the youth are telling the government that enough is enough, they should try and complete the centre because we don’t have any sports facility in the area, We have suffered for so long and we are getting ourselves prepared for resistance against the government if nothing is done about our concerns”
Describing the delay of the project as worrying, they said most of the facilities started after Axim Sports Complex, had all been completed and they do not understand the reasons why their own has not been completed since 2018.
Adding his voice, Jonas Mr. Kabutey ( Youth Parliament Leader )
said his community has been neglected and don’t know the reason why the project remains uncompleted.
“I don’t understand why and how can we abandon this project, we are giving the government 2-month ultimatum to commission this facility for us”.He questioned.
The youth also used the platform to appeal to President Nana Akuffo Addo to intervene.
After three months and if nothing is done, we are not going to vote in this year’s election, because it is very sad” they revealed.
Axim Sports Complex is an uncompleted multi-purpose facility situated in the Evalue Ajomoro Gwira municipality in the Western Region.
